How and where do we meet?

Many people opt for a video call using Zoom for their sessions. Once an appointment is scheduled you will receive an email with a private secured Zoom link. For those who desire to met in person, we will meet at Heartland Community Church in Medina, OH.

Can this type of work really be done through a video call?

I had my doubts too, but I’ve seen its effectiveness and become so accustomed to it that I’ve become a believer. In fact 90% of my clients are on Zoom all around the world. For busy people, cutting out the travel time to and from makes it possible. I also find people are even more focused for session when on a video call.

How do I make payments?

Venmo is the preferred electronic choice of payment. Paypal is a secondary option. If these electronic forms of payment are not possible, other arrangements can be made. Payments are due following your sessions. Payments are not discussed directly before, during or after sessions to prevent any distractions. We can discuss any payment matters via email or a phone.

Any chance insurance covers appointments?

No, I wish they did, but this service is not covered in health insurance wellness plans even though it does just that.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. Absolutely. Part of the ethical conduct for Spiritual Directors is strict confidentiality. While you are always free to share anything from sessions with whomever you chose, we hold sessions in confidence. The only exception is if a person is a danger to themselves, others or a minor.

Can I refer someone to try spiritual direction?

Yes. The best compliment you can give us is a referral. Spiritual direction is less familiar than counseling or therapy so it helps others understand the benefits if you share your experiences. Thank you!

Do you work with minors?

Most clients are 18 years of age or older. Exceptions exist for the Discernment Package where someone who is 16 or 17 years old is seeking discernment for a decision. Parental permission is required.
